Description
English: "Pudenda pseudo-hermaphroditi ovini." Illustration of ambiguous genitalia from Frederik Ruysch’s Thesaurus Anitomicus Octavius, 1709. The description of this plate can be found here (top of page 13). Note that "pudenda" literally translates to "shameful things," although this word was commonly used to refer to the female genitalia (see dictionary entry).
