Title
Post-Medieval Weight
Description
English: A circular copper alloy bullion weight. The weight has a raised lip and is marked, in the central area, with a stamped crown and a ewer. The ewer is the symbol of the Worshipful Company of Founders and was used for countermarking bullion weights in the reign of William III and after 1772. The surface has several deep scratches and a central hole. The reverse shows file marks and there is wear to one edge.
