Deutsch: Emil Kirdorf (* 8. April 1847 in Mettmann bei Düsseldorf; † 13. Juli 1938 in Mülheim an der Ruhr) war ein deutscher Industrieller des Ruhrkohle-Bergbaus. Der ein gutes Jahr vor dem Ausbruch des Zweiten Weltkrieges verstorbene Kirdorf gilt als einer der Unterstützer von Adolf Hitler (vgl. deutsche und englische Wikipedia)

Das Foto ist (genau in der Form des Uploads vom 15. Auf der Webseite https://www.dhm.de/lemo/biografie/emil-kirdorf (Deutsches Historisches Museum Berlin, 14. September 2014) ist ein tabellarischer Lebenslauf von Emil Kirdorf mit dem gleichen Bild zu finden. Es unterscheidet sich von dem hochgeladenen (ein Ausschnitt) nur insofern, dass es den sitzenden Kirdorf, mit einem weißen Blatt in der Hand und einem Fell auf den Knien zeigt. Aus der ARD-Dokumentation "Die stählerne Zeit", zu sehen auf YouTube, ist eindeutig erkennbar, dass es sich um einen Schnappschuss von Emil Kirdorf handelt, der anlässlich seines 90. Geburtstages am 8. April 1937 entstand und von der Deutschen Wochenschau in Bild und Ton gesetzt wurde.
