construcción civil más importante de toda La Rioja: "El Palacio del Marqués de Casa Torre" data del siglo XVIII y es de estilo florentino.

El marqués mandó la construcción de un palacio y construyeron la casa que se encuentra al final de la calle de la Iglesia, (cincuenta metros más abajo del actual) cuando éste la vio acabada, les dijo a sus arquitectos ¿Vosotros pensáis que este edificio es un palacio? Ésta casa será la casa de los perros y me construiréis un palacio que sea digno de un rey, entonces es cuando construyeron el actual palacio y una pequeña casa adosada, para los sirvientes y las caballerías.

El segundo palacio se construyó en 1729, con los mejores artistas Españoles e Italianos, por el primer Marqués, natural de Igea, Don Juan José Ovejas y Díez (1682-1732), gobernador y capitán General de Arica en Perú,
