Description
English: The Painted Hall is a stunning room in the old Royal Naval College that features beautiful handpainted walls, ceilings and interiors. Painted by British artist Sir James Thornhill the work took 19 years to complete. It features frescos and artwork painted to create the illusion of intricate architectural features on otherwise flat surfaces. The result earned Sir James Thornhill his knighthood.
