Summary

Description
English: Details of ornamentation of the Holyoke Opera House, one of its proscenium boxes, although it's uncertain if this design was final as this feature does not appear with theater boxes in later photos from 1895 and there was a renovation in 1894. The "W" very likely stands for its founder, William Whiting, as the venue was known as the Whiting Opera House when it first opened. Alternately it may represent the appendent Whiting or Windsor Hotel.
