Description
English: NSWR W Thow Class C30 (ex-Class S636) 4-6-4T No.3137 (built NSWR Eveleigh Works No.134 of 1916, withdrawn 1967 but used on specials until 1974) at Trainworks, the New South Wales Railway Museum, Thirlmere, 31 March 2016. 145 were built in 1903-17: 95 by Beyer Peacock, and 50 by NSWR. They were withdrawn 1957-70 although 77 had been rebuilt to Class C30T 4-6-0's in 1920-33. In addition, 3 were built by Beyer Peacock in 1912 and 1929 for the South Maitland Railways as Class '15', which were withdrawn in 1965. These were big suburban passenger engines for their day.
