Narsil / Andúril - final version with different engraving

  • Andúril, the Blade of Aragorn, heir of Isildur, forged out of the shards of Narsil (which was Elendils sword).

I tried to "reconstruct" how it may have looked like in Tolkiens 'Lord of the ring.

  • Artist: Gerald Stiehler website, 2005-01-27
  • Made with the path tool in "photo impact 8",
  • ... using bumpmaps of elvish runes, as provided by Dan Smith website 'tengwar annatar.ttf' & 'cirth erebor.ttf' and using the wonderfull Tengwar Writing Program TengScribe.
  • All the inscriptions are hypothetical, as Tolkien didn't describe exactly, what he had in mind when talking about "engraved runes" on the sword. But the text matches different interpretations I found on the net, that seem appropriate to me.
Feedback would be appreciated (using my website).
