Summary

Description
English: The NEXRAD KTWX radar reflectivity (Left) and radar velocity (Right) for the hook echo of a strong tornado in Kansas, which occurred on March 13, 2024, during the tornado outbreak of March 13–15, 2024.

NEXRAD reflectivity is measured in dBZ and NEXRAD velocity is measured in miles per hour.

At this exact moment, the NEXRAD radar is scanning the tornado at a height of 650 feet (220 yd; 200 m) and it measured the tornado vortex signature (TVS) with inbound winds of 118 miles per hour (190 km/h) and outbound winds of 63.8 miles per hour (102.7 km/h), which means it measured a "gate-to-gate" shear of 181.8 miles per hour (292.6 km/h).
