Summary

Description
English: Mozart crater on Mercury. Approximate color representation combining three images acquired by MESSENGER Wide Angle Camera (EW0248001050I, EW0248001042G, EW0248001046F) with I (996.2 nm), G (748.7 nm), and F (433.2 nm) filters. Combined in GIMP software as RGB (Red-Green-Blue), and then rotated so that north is up.

A similar image, probably from the same source images, appears in figure 9.5 (g) of Mercury: The View After MESSENGER edited by Sean C. Solomon, Larry R. Nittler, and Brian J. Anderson (Cambridge Planetary Science), which has the following caption:

Enhanced color image of Mozart showing low-reflectance material (LRM) excavated in both the peak ring and as streaks with the basin ejecta. A reddish unit, likely excavated high-reflectance red plains (HRP) material, is also visible in linear patches across the rim, especially to the south.

Statistics for I image:

Emission Angle: 19.0
Incidence Angle: 9.1
Latitude: 8.6
Longitude: 170.1
Phase Angle: 28.1
