Summary

Description
English: Range of the Cape wagtail,[1][2][3][4][5] showing the three subspecies in different colours.

The two arrows highlight two fairly isolated coastal populations of the nominate subspecies, in southern Namibia and southern Mozambique respectively. The latter populations have been elevated to subspecies in the past, namely Motacilla capensis bradfieldi (A.Roberts, 1932), the type obtained at Swakopmund,[1] and Motacilla capensis beirensis (A.Roberts, 1932), type obtained at Zimbiti, Beira.[2]
