English: Monument for de victims of the train disaster near Harmelen, Netherlands, revealed on 8 January 2012 by Pieter van Vollenhoven, 50 years after the disaster. Monument designed by Taeke de Jong. From the Dutch Wikipedia page (translated): "The design consists of two hard stone slabs standing upright with an angle between them, which have the names of the 93 victims written on them. Between the slabs, the location of the disaster can be seen. Between the slabs is a plinth in red hard stone, on which rests a statue representing the victims."
Note: There are three mistakes in the list of names on the stone slabs as seen on the picture here: Kroesen should be Kroezen, Roos should be Roes and Van de Vegt should be Van der Vegt." Nederlands: Monument voor de slachtoffers van de treinramp nabij Harmelen, onthuld op 8 januari 2012 door Pieter van Vollenhoven, exact 50 jaar na de ramp. Monument is ontworpen door Taeke de Jong. Van de betreffende Wikipediapagina: "Het ontwerp bestaat uit twee hardstenen platen die scheef ten opzichte van elkaar staan en waarop de 93 namen van de slachtoffers staan. Tussen de platen door is de plek des onheils te zien. Tussen de platen staat een sokkel in rode hardsteen, met daarop een corpus dat de slachtoffers verbeeldt."
Het monument staat permanent aan de openbare weg en is gefotografeerd zoals het zich aldaar bevindt. |
