Summary

Description
English: Neris riverbanks near what is now Gostauto gatve, between Jaksto and Vasario 16. Most buildings do not exist now, except the one on the left, currently numbered Jaksto 16, and the one (partially visible) behind it, numbered Jaksto 8.
Date late 1920s? perhaps even early 1950s? The source website claims the picture was taken in 1938, though it provides no further references (author? source?). Judging by what is pictured (clothes, buildings, craftwork) the photo could have been taken any time between the 1920s and the 1950s. Given the photo is probably made without a tripod (height) and given it looks as developed from film (not glass), it appears to be taken in the late 1920s earliest. In the mid-1950s the surroundings changed, as there were new residential blocks constructed. I would perhaps agree with the 1938 date, though judging by the quality of the photo, I was tempted to say 1940s.
