English: The Three Singles
Description
English: Lord Ellenborough, Lord Brougham and The Earl of Mansfield walk together arm in arm. Coloured lithograph by H.B. (John Doyle), 1838. Brougham strongly opposed the government measures relating to Canada and was alone in this position for a while. He was eventually supported by Mansfield and Ellenborough. The title refers to the farce of "Three and the Deuce" with the well known characters Pertinax, Peregrine and Percival Single. Iconographic Collections.
