Strand Somerset House is a large Neoclassical building designed to house public offices, originally the site of a Tudor palace. Arch. William Chambers and James Wyatt 1776-1801(?). Further extensions with Victorian wings to the east and west were built in 1831 and 1856 respectively. It is now a home for arts and learning.
