Summary

Description
English: Loch of Mey, Caithness. Loch of Mey is a shallow ephemeral loch which is fringed by fen and marshy grassland. It is designated as an SSSI and is used by wintering, migrating and breeding birds. It is one of the two most important roosting sites in northern Scotland for wintering flocks of Greenland white-fronted goose. Dunnet Head, the most northerly point on mainland Britain, can be seen in the background.
