Summary

Description
English: Linthwaite Hall, Linfit Lane, Linthwaite Pevsner considers that this was built c.1600, although it looks to have been added to during the 17C. These halls were generally built by men who had made their fortune in the wool trade and become minor gentry. There was another old building to the left of the hall, but this seems to have been replaced by modern houses. The name 'Gordon Street' in the right foreground is a renaming of the western part of Bank Road.
