English: Leander James McCormick (1819–1900) was an American farmer, manufacturer, and businessman who was born in rural Virginia and owned vast amounts of real estate in downtown Chicago. Although his brother Cyrus is often credited with "inventing" the mechanical repear, Leander stressed the many contributions to the new technology.
