Notes
  • The design of the Pavillon de Flore at the west end (to the left) and the western section (up to the Pavillon de la Lanterne) of the Grande Galerie (completed c. 1610) is traditionally attributed to Jacques II Androuet du Cerceau (Ballon 1991, pp. 39–44).
  • The design of the eastern section of the Grande Galerie (begun c. 1595) is traditionally attributed to Louis Métezeau (Ballon 1991, pp. 39–44).
  • The five-bay pavilion at the east end of the Grande Galerie (just west of the south facade of the Petite Galerie) was raised by one storey by Le Vau in 1661–1664 (Christ 1949, p. 144).
