Description Formerly known as by its Anglacized name Quilon, it is a city on the Malabar Coast of India in the state of Kerala. The city has the second largest shipping port in the state and one of the busiest fishing harbours. It is well connected by road, rail and the state operated waterways. The waterways have regular ferries to West Kallada, Munroe Island and Allepy. There are also house boats and double decker boats that cater to the seasonal tourism.
