Español: La obra representa al santo Donato de Arezzo († 362) en el momento en que recuperó los pedazos del cáliz que había sido destrozado por unos paganos y que, tras orar sobre los pedazos, se recompuso milagrosamente el cáliz y provocó que los paganos se convirtieran al cristianismo.

Object history La obra se encontraba desde el siglo XVII en las colecciones reales españolas, pero, tras su robo durante la Guerra de la Independencia fue adquirida en 1865 por los hermanos Lavalard, quienes la donaron al Musée de Picardie en 1890.
