Description
English: John M Keating's, Restaurant, Cafe and Bar, Mary St. The former St. Mary's Church of Ireland closed as a Church in 1964. It is one of the earliest examples of a galleried Church in Dublin. Built at the beginning of the 18th Century, it boasts many outstanding features, such as the Renatus Harris built organ and a spectacular stained glass window. It is List 1 building and after extensive restoration finally re-opened its doors in December 2005 as a Restaurant, Cafe and Bar.

Important historical figures associated with St. Mary's Church include: Arthur Guinness - Founder of the Guinness Brewery Sean O'Casey - Playwright & Author Theobald Wolfe Tone – Founder of the United Irishmen Richard Brinsley Sheridan - Playwright & Author Jonathan Swift - Author of 'Gulliver's Travels' and Dean of St. Patrick's Cathedral The Earl of Charlemont - Irish Volunteer Buried within the grounds are: Mary Mercer - Founder of Mercer's Hospital

Lord Norbury - the 'Hanging Judge' who Ordered the execution of Robert Emmett in 1798
