Description
English: This map illustrates the geographic distribution of the two species of cottonmouth, the Northern Cottonmouth (Agkistrodon piscivorus) and the Florida Cottonmouth (Agkistrodon conanti)

The black dots indicates the type localities. Agkistrodon piscivorus: “Carolina”; Schmidt (1953 :225) proposed to restrict it to the vicinity of Charleston, South Carolina. Agkistrodon conanti: "at edge of Rochelle-Cross Creek Road, about 7 miles southeast of Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida"
