Summary

Description
English: Spectral line radiation from a xenon flashtube operated at high voltage and low current. The tube was under-energized to allow the camera to photograph it unfiltered. Although the greenish-blue arc looks similar to the flash' appearance to the naked eye, the bright blue reflected off the table was not visible. This is caused by the camera being able to image the strong infrared lines around 900 nm,[1] which the camera "sees" as blue.[2]
