Summary

Description
English: Faltings' commutative diagram used to explain Wiles' approach in his proof of Taniyama-Shimura conjecture for the semistable case of elliptic curves, needed to resolve Fermat's last theorem positively. Extracted from Faltings, Gerd (July 1995). "The Proof of Fermat's Last Theorem by R. Taylor and A. Wiles" (PDF). Notices of the AMS 42 (7): 743–746. ISSN 0002-9920.

This math image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Faltings diagram.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
