Summary

Description
English: A Falcon 9 v1.0 rocket, bound to launch a Dragon spacecraft on a test flight, sports the protective casing for the explosive ordnance of its flight termination system. Its purpose is to neutralize the vehicle when it enters areas outside prescribed safety zones or malfunctions. Cropped from a NASA picture taken in the SpaceX hangar at Cape Canaveral SLC-40 in July 2011.
