Summary

Description A McDonnell Douglas F/A-18A Hornet (BuNo. 162866) from strike fighter squadron VFA-137 Kestrels in flight during a training mission out of Naval Air Station Cecil Field (Florida, USA). VFA-137 and the other squadrons of Carrier Air Wing Six (CVW-6) were to depart at the end of May 1991 on a Mediterranean deployment aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CV-59). Both the Forrestal and CVW-6 were decommissioned after this deployment. VFA-137 was reassigned to CVW-2.
