Polski: "Niewiem jakiego plemienia to ludzie, mniemam zaś, że byli Sardyńczykami, ponieważ Ci przez czterech panów są rządzeni." Kopia oryginalnego dokumentu łacińskiego "DAGOME IUDEX". Który jest napisany solidną rzymską miniaturką, typową dla XI wieku. Wykonana kopia jest dokładna. Słowa, które w przeszłości zostały uszkodzone, zrekonstruowano, a tekst jest pierwotnie rozdzielony (umieszczony z dwóch stron Folii 87), został połączony w jeden akapit (zaznaczony na obrazku).
English: "I don't know what tribe people are, but I think they were Sardinians because they were ruled by four masters." This picture is a copy of the oryginal latin document text "DAGOME IUDEX" from Vatican (between 1099 and 1118; look at Source). It is written in solid Roman minuscule, typical of 11th century. For more information see below. The copy has been executed with a pencil, HP Photosmart C3180 (scanned), and MS Paint, therefore is precisly exact. Words that were damaged have been reconstructed, and the text, originally separated (placed on two sides of Folia 87) has been joined properly into one paragraph (marked on the picture).

This text was copied especially for one paragraph (intersection of folia 87 and folia 87v), which is mainly known as "Dagome(Dagone) iudex". This is a piece of canonical work called "Collectio canonum". The reason is, that it is a very important text for Polish history, where it's used to fixing many things from the erliest times of Poland. However we don't know how it looked oririginally and we have only six different copies of that (you can see copy number 1 on the picture). That's why there are many studies, which tries to deduce real appearance of this by copies comparision. Very important thing is dependence between copies and which one has delivered the best forms. [section mark] Also in another volume under the [reign of] pope John XV we read, that Dagome, lord, and Ote, lady, and their sons Mieszko and Lambert (I don't know from what tribe those people were, but I suppose they were Sardinians, because they are ruled by four lords) were due to grant to saint Peter one entire city [or state], which is called Schignesne, with all its lands in those borders, as it begin from first side by cost of the long sea, and from there along border of Prussia to the place, which is called Rus, and straight along border of Rus till Kraków, and from this Kraków till the Oder river straight to the place, which is called Alemura, and from this Alemura till the land of Milsko, and from its border straight under the Oder and from there along the Oder river till mentioned city [or state] of Shinesche.
