Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Weigenheim besteht seit 1972 aus den ehemals selbstständigen Gemeinden Weigenheim, Geckenheim und Reusch. Ihre Lage am Fuß des Hohenlandsberges im Steigerwald in ausgedehnten Eichenwäldern versinnbildlicht das Eichenblatt. Das Weinblatt symbolisiert den traditionellen Weinanbau. Der Herzschild ist das Wappen der Fürsten von Schwarzenberg, er erinnert an deren Herrschaft in Weigenheim. Die Felder 1 und 4 lehnen sich an das Wappen der Freiherren von Hutten an, zu deren Herrschaft Geckenheim und Reusch gehörten. Dieses Adelsgeschlecht führte in Rot zwei goldene Schräglinksbalken.
