Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen zeigt rechts den Löwen der Grafschaft Katzenelnbogen in Rot auf Gold und links des Löwen des Hauses Nassau in Gold auf Blau. Es wird seit 1964 von der Gemeinde Ellar geführt und wurde durch Beschluss im Jahr 1977 für die Gesamtgemeinde übernommen. Es symbolisiert die historische Zugehörigkeit des alten Amtes Ellar zur Grafschaft Katzenelnbogen und zum Haus Nassau.
