Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde zuletzt 1948 vom niedersächsischen Innenminister verliehen. Die älteste Abbildung ist auf einem Siegel von 1338 zu finden. Es galt seit dem 19. Jahrhundert lange Zeit als kleines Wappen der Stadt. Es war sowohl im Siegel der Norderstadt als auch der Süderstadt zu sehen.
