Object history
Deutsch: Schon ein 1511 verlorengegangenes Siegel zeigte den Schild der Herren von Neipperg mit den drei Ringen und dem Kirchenpatron Johannes dem Täufer als Schildhalter. Dies gilt auch für spätere Siegel mit Ausnahme eines um 1820 entstandenen Exemplars, das das Wappen der erwähnten vormaligen Ortsherrschaft ohne den Schildhalter aufwies. Obwohl der neippergsche Schild 1959 als das eigentliche Stadtwappen festgelegt wurde, erscheint es traditionsgemäß meist mit dem Schildhalter. Die Stadtfarben wurden 1925 bestimmt.
