English: This is a view, looking northwest, of Coquelin Run, a tributary of Rock Creek, as it emerges from the culvert that carries it eastward under Connecticut Avenue (MD 195) in unincorporated Chevy Chase, Maryland, United States. The road sign indicates Chevy Chase Lake Court, a road that takes its name from the artificial lake created by the damming of Coquelin Run in 1892 to supply water for the steam turbines of a coal-fired power plant for the Rock Creek Railway, an early streetcar line. The dam, which stood about a half-mile to the east-northeast of this photo's location, was removed and the lake drained around 1930.
