Summary

Description
English: Dipping layers are the remains of material that once covered a wide area. Erosion has since removed all traces of them except in a few protected spots like in craters or against slopes. The layers are caused by the material falling from the sky at different intervals. The material that fell may have been ice rich. This image was named HiRISE picture of the day.
