Summary

Description
English: The picture is a Greek Catholic icon depicting Christ enthroned. The icon was painted in the end of the 18th century as part of the iconostasis of the Greek Catholic Cathedral of Hajdúdorog, Hungary. This icon is placed on the middle column of the iconostasis above the royal door. It separates the two parts of the Great Feasts' tier and partially the Apostles' tier too.

On the icon Christ wears an episcopal vestment and he sits on a throne as the ruler of All. He makes the gesture of the teaching or blessing with his right and he holds the New Testament in his left hand (this makes it very similar to the Christ Pantokrator icon). The Bible is opened at Matthew's Gospel and the text says: "Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." (25:34)

This particular picture was made up of three different photos that can be seen in the category of the iconostase of Hajdúdorog too. I had to merge the photos since it is almost impossible to take a picture about the whole icon as a chandelier and a lamp is right in front of the icon.
Magyar: A kép a Trónoló Krisztust ábrázolja.
