Summary

Description
English: The old fort of Buenos Aires, seat of the Government of Argentina (at front). The fort would be demolished in the 1880s. At the back, the Post Office building (inaugurated in 1873), that would become the House of Government in 1882, remaining up to present days. It was nicknamed "Casa Rosada (Pink House)" due to it had been painted with a mix of animal blood and lime during the presidency of Domingo Sarmiento (1868-1874).
Español: Edificio del viejo fuerte de Buenos Aires, sede del gobierno de Argentina (al frente). El fuerte sería demolido en los 1880s. Detrás, el Palacio de Correos (inaugurado en 1873), que pasaría a ser la Casa de Gobierno en 1882, función que cumple hasta el presente. Se la llamó "Casa Rosada" por haber sido pintada con una mezcla de sangre animal y lima durante la presidencia de Domingo F. Sarmiento (1868-1874).
