Description
English: Seal of Cagayan de Oro City, in use from 1950 to 1976. Declared as de jure official seal by NHCP as of 2018

Blazon of the coat of arms in the seal:
Bleu celeste (celestial blue), in dexter and sinister two Spanish galleons proper (natural colors) upon barry wavy of 10 Azure (blue) and Argent (white); in fess point a Cocos nucifera (Coconut) tree and in dexter and sinister a pair of Ananas sativus (pineapple) fruit, all proper, upon party per chevron Gules (red); in dexter and sinister base a pair of Cornucopia with coins in the middle base, all Or (yellow); and a chief Argent (white) studded with three (3) mullets (5-pointed stars) Or (yellow).

Symbolisms:
1. Golden Cornucopia and gold coins - the historic reference of the city to its Spanish period gold extracting activity, hence the name "Cagayan de Oro"
2. Galleon ships - maritime trade and shipping of the city, home to the Cagayan de Oro Port and Container Terminal
3. Pineapple fruit - the pineapple canning industry of the city, represented by Del Monte Philippines and Philpack (Philippine Packing Corp.)
4. Coconut tree - the agricultural and forestry industry of the city
5. Barry wavy of Azure and Argent (render of the sea) - the Macajalar Bay

6. Three golden stars in the chief - the three main island groups of the country: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
