English: Coat of arms of the FitzGerald of Desmond, blazoned ermine a saltire gules, in the south wall of the south transept. From the description by W. FitzGerald in the Journal of the Association for the Preservation of Memorials of the Dead in Ireland, vol 6, p. 443: FitzGerald of Desmond coat of arms (ermine, a saltire gules) surrounded by “diapering” at the sides, and their crest: a man in armour on horseback (facing to the right), all carved in relief.
