Summary

Description
English: Opened in 1966 by British Rail on the line from Stockton to Sunderland, this station replaced an earlier, larger one around a mile further west, where Station Road still crosses the railway. View north east towards Greatham and Sunderland, a few months after a new footbridge and lifts had opened, greatly altering the view of the station.
