Summary
| Description | Der Klosterhof mit seinen historischen Anlagen erstreckt sich weitestgehend im hinteren Areal der Sankt-Marien-Kirche. Das als Benediktinerkloster gegründete und im 13. Jh. zum Zisterzienserkloster konvertierte Nonnenkloster war bis nach der Reformation eine "Zuchtschule" für adelige Jungfrauen. 2004 wurde die Klosteranlage saniert und bildet heute mit Marktplatz und Kirche das historische Zentrum der Stadt Bergen auf Rügen. Heute befinden sich in den Gebäuden Wohnungen, ein Museum und eine Gaststätte. Die ehemaligen Ställe dienen einem Kunsthandwerk als Schauräume. |
