Deutsch: Südansicht der röm.-kath. Stadtpfarrkirche St. Stephan in der niederösterreichischen Stadt Baden und davor der Pfarrplatz mit dem 1954 errichteten Kriegerdenkmal. Die Kirche wurde in mehreren Bauphasen im 14. und 15. Jahrhundert anstelle einer romanischen Vorgängerkirche errichtet. Zerstört wurde sie um 1480 von Mathias Corvinus, bei der 1. Türkenbelagerung 1529 und bei der zweiten 1683. Nach dieser wurde der Westturm großteils abgetragen und der Hauptturm im Osten barockisiert, sowie der Zwiebelhelm mit Laterne aufgesetzt. |
