Summary

Description

Austroboletus lacunosus (Kuntze) T.W. May & A.E. Wood

Image location: Yarrahapinni State Forest, North of Grassy Head, New South Wales, Australia

Small area of Eucalyptus rainforest floor displaying several specimens after some rainfall. I did not keep a specimen as I believed I had already done so with this species. After reviewing the images at home now I am not so sure. The immature cap was wet and slightly sticky, whereas the more mature specimen cap, was Dry and lighter in colour.Only time will tell. I have suggested Austroboletus lacunosus, but only a guess.
