Object history Seit 2015 bilden Sankt Marein bei Knittelfeld und Feistritz bei Knittelfeld die neue Gemeinde Sankt Marein-Feistritz. Schon in den ersten Gesprächen zur Findung eines Wappens für das neu entstandene Gemeinwesen stand eine Vereinigung von Motiven aus den beiden vormaligen, 1975 bzw. 1993 verliehenen Gemeindewappen als die ideale Lösung fest. So versinnbildlichen im neuen Gemeindewappen das Rautenband vom Kirchentor das Gotteshaus der Hll. Johannes des Täufers und Johannes Evangelist in Feistritz sowie das Maßwerkfenster die gotische Marienkirche von Sankt Marein, während die Pflugschar auf das ehemals bedeutende Hammerwerk Wasserleith hinweist und der Wasserkrug für den Sauerbrunn Fentsch steht, der im Gemeindegebiet entspringt.
