Summary

Description
English: The Indian Navy and Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) have been carrying out coordinated patrols (CORPAT) twice a year since 2002. The CORPAT is also accompanied by a bilateral exercise at the sea. The 30th edition, marking 15 years of cooperation, commenced on 24 Oct 17, with the opening ceremony at Belwan. As part of the CORPAT, the participating ships and patrol aircraft of the two countries undertook patrolling on the respective sides of 236 nautical mile long International Maritime Boundary Line. For the closing ceremony, the Indonesian Naval Ship KRI Imam Bonjal (383) and Indonesian Maritime Patrol Aircraft along with the Indonesian Naval delegation arrived at Port Blair on 03 Nov 17. On arrival, Capt Nursyawal Embun, Chief of Staff, Sea Security Task Force (Western Fleet Command) and other Indonesian officers called on Maj Gen PS Sai, Chief of Staff, Andaman and Nicobar Command and exchanged mementoes. During their stay at Port Blair various events including sports fixtures, ship visits and professional interactions are scheduled between the Indian Navy and Indonesian Navy.
