Nederlands: Maquette van de Akense Tranchot-obelisk in het Centre Charlemagne in Aken, Duitsland. De obelisk was in 1807, tijdens de Franse bezetting, opgericht ter ere van Napoleon op de Akense Lousberg. Op de obelisk zijn de afstanden naar Parijs en andere steden aangegeven. De zuil diende destijds tevens als referentiepunt voor de landmeter-topograaf Jean Joseph Tranchot (1752-1815) bij het in kaart brengen van het Rijnland, de zgn. Tranchotkaarten. |
