Summary

Description
English: Close-up view of the damaged 1903 Wright Flyer on the ground after its fourth and final flight on December 17, 1903. The Flyer had landed hard, breaking the elevator frame. The Wrights had hoped to quickly repair this damage and perform further test flights, but a while after this photo was taken, the Flyer was caught and flipped by a wind gust, causing much more severe damage and ending its flying career.
