Français : Cette photo est la première de l'album de voitures de courses de A. C. KREBS (arch. Krebs). Dite "1° voiture de course", elle a également été nommée "le char".
Elle est sans doute le premier prototype d'automobile développé par Levassor à la fin de 1889 et au début de 1890. Elle comporte un moteur Daimler monocylindre à l'arrière, un réservoir d'eau à l'avant, un chassis tubulaire, une suspension par ressorts à lames sur l'essieu arrière, un embrayage, une transmission par engrenage sur l'une des roues arrière, un frein de stationnement, une barre de direction, un avertisseur à poire. Après démarrage du moteur et déserrage du frein, il suffit d'appuyer sur la pédale de l'embrayage pour lancer la voiture. L'usure des bandages pleins montre que ce véhicule a beaucoup circulé. 1937 - "D'Arsonval-65 ans à travers la science", Louis Chauvois, Paris: "M. D'Arsonval [...] fréquentait souvent, chez un voisin et ami, l'ingénieur Levassor, attaché à l'entreprise de bois PANHARD. Or dans les ateliers de celle-ci, un moteur à essence Daimler de 2 cv établi sur un bâti fixe, faisait fonctionner la scie débitant les pièces de bois. Qu'à cela ne tienne ! "Nous décidâmes, un beau jour de 1891, Levassor et moi, avec le chef d'atelier MAYADE, de disposer ce moteur sur un chariot mobile et nous construisîmes ainsi l'un des premiers engins à rouler sur le sol."English: This photo is the first in the racing car album of A. It is undoubtedly the first automobile prototype developed by Levassor at the end of 1889 and the beginning of 1890. It has a single-cylinder Daimler engine at the rear, a water tank at the front, a tubular chassis, a leaf spring suspension on the rear axle, a clutch, a gear transmission on one of the rear wheels, a parking brake, a steering rod, a bulb horn. After starting the engine and releasing the brake, just press the clutch pedal to launch the car. The wear of the solid tires shows that this vehicle has been used a lot. 1937 - "D'Arsonval-65 years through science", Louis Chauvois, Paris: "M. D'Arsonval [...] often visited, at the home of a neighbor and friend, the engineer Levassor , attached to the PANHARD woodworking company, but in its workshops, a 2 hp Daimler petrol engine mounted on a fixed frame operated the saw that sawed the pieces of wood. "We decided, one fine day in 1891, Levassor and I, with the workshop foreman MAYADE, to place this engine on a mobile trolley and we thus built one of the first machines to roll on the ground." |
