Inga Naan Thaan Kingu (transl. I am the only king here) is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by Anand Narayan, written by Ezhichur Aravindan and produced by Gopuram Films. The film stars Santhanam, alongside Priyalaya (in her acting debut), and Thambi Ramaiah in the lead roles.[1] Vivek Prasanna, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Swaminathan, Cool Suresh, Lollu Sabha Seshu and Manobala appear in the supporting roles.
The soundtrack and background score were composed by D. Imman, while the cinematography and editing were handled by Om Narayan and M. Thiyagarajan.[2] The title is inspired by Rajinikanth's dialogue from Jailer.[3] The film was extensively shot in Chennai.[4]
Inga Naan Thaan Kingu was released in theatres on 17 May 2024.[5]
Premise[edit]
Vetrivel, struggles to find a life partner until he meets Thenmozhi and marries her. However, everything takes an unexpected turn when Vetrivel finds himself accused of planting bombs in Chennai.

Production[edit]
The film was produced by G.N. Anbuchezhian and Sushmita Anbuchezhian under his banner, Gopuram Films. The major portions of the film were shot in Chennai.[6] The cinematography of the film was by Om Narayan, and the editing was handled by M. Thiyagarajan.

The music and background score is composed by D. Imman, in his second collaboration with Santhanam after Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga (after the latter's transformation into lead roles) and in his first collaboration with Anand Narayan. The audio rights were acquired by Saregama.[7] The first single "Maayoney" was released on 23 March 2024.[8] The second single "Kulukku Kulukku" was released on 10 April 2024.[9] The third single "Maalu Maalu" was released on 6 May 2024.[10]

Reception[edit]
Manigandan KR of Times Now rated three out of five and stated that "On the whole, Inga Naan Thaan Kingu is a light hearted entertainer that has no message as such but which succeeds by and large in its mission to make you laugh."[11] Petchi Avudaiappan of ABP Nadu wrote that "after watching the film, they ask what the title has to do with the story".[12]
