Why an SVG?[edit]

Why is this an SVG image? There are even jpeg artifacts in there! [comment by 85.0.152.134]

SVG is a container that can include multiple types of objects inside it. In this case, there are several original screenshots (some of which were taken from JPEG sources; I don’t have access to the original software in all cases), as well as a grey background, and several vector outline letters. There would be no advantage in converting this to a single PNG or JPEG file, and it would make extracting the original screenshots much more difficult for anyone who cared to separate them. –jacobolus (t) 15:31, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
