Rachel McQuigge (born October 8, 1998) is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender for PWHL Ottawa and former member of the Princeton University Tigers NCAA women’s ice hockey program.

After a successful career at Princeton University, Rachel signed a contract with the Metropolitan Riveters of the Premier Hockey Federation and played in the final PHF season. Following the 2022-2023 PHF season, she became a member of the inaugural Professional Women's Hockey League season when she signed with  PWHL Ottawa after receiving an invitation to their training camp.

Playing Career[edit]

Rachel played youth hockey for the Whitby Wolves of the Provincial WHL from 2013 to 2017, recording a save percentage of above .910 each season and a .930 save percentage in her final two seasons.[1].

Following her youth career, Rachel joined the Princeton University NCAA D1 women’s ice hockey team, where she played from 2017 to 2022. She finished her career second in program history in both career GAA (.181) and save percentage (.933)[2]. She finished eighth in program history with 1,494 saves, and her single season record of 801 saves was the fifth highest in program history[2]. She was Princeton’s starting goalie for the Tigers’ historic upset of #1 ranked Harvard University in a three-game series in the 2021-2022 season, which marked the first time an eight-seed beat the #1 seed in the ECAC[3]. Her senior season .938 save percentage was second among regular starters in a season in Princeton’s history[2].

Rachel was invited to and attended the 2019 Hockey Canada National Women's Goaltender Camp in June[4] and was then selected to attend the 2019 Hockey Canada National Women's Development Team Selection Camp in August.

After graduating from Princeton, Rachel signed with the Metropolitan Riveters of the PHF[5], where she played eight games with a 4-4-0 record before being sidelined with an injury for the rest of the season[1]. She re-signed for the Riveters during the 2023 offseason[6].

When the PHF’s assets were sold to the PWHL in the summer of 2023, McQuigge declared for the inaugural PWHL draft, making her eligible to join any team for the 2023-2024 season. After the draft, she was invited to PWHL Ottawa’s training camp and later signed as an undrafted free-agent[7]
